Nöroloji bölümü; beyin, omurilik (spinal kord) ve merkezi sinir sistemi dahil olmak üzere tüm sinir sisteminde gelişen hastalıkların tanı ve tedavisi ile ilgilenen bilim dalıdır.
Sinir sisteminin tüm bölümlerini ve sinir-kas bölgelerindeki hastalıkları inceleyen oldukça geniş bir hastalıklar grubu ile ilgilenen Nöroloji alanında uygulamalar pek çok tetkik ve teşhise dayanmaktadır. Sinirsel iletileri ölçen tetkikler ve görüntüleme yöntemleri kullanılarak hastanın bu yöntemlerde gösterdiği belirtiler incelenir ve bu belirtiler doğrultusunda tedavi süreci planlanır.
Çok ciddi sağlık sorunları yaratabilecek tehlikeye sahip olan Nörolojik hastalıklar için erken teşhis ve tedavi oldukça önemlidir. Bu nedenle nörolojik semptomlar ve belirtiler gözlemleniyor ise mutlaka uzman bir nörologa başvurulmalıdır.
Nöroloji Bölümü’nde başlıca hizmet verdiğimiz hastalıklar:
- Epilepsi,
- Psikiyatrik rahatsızlıklar,
- Baş ağrısı,
- Hareket bozuklukları,
- Uyku bozuklukları,
- Sinir sıkışmaları,
- Pleksus bozuklukları,
- Kas rahatsızlıkları,
- Alzheimer ve diğer demanslar.
Nöroloji Bölümü’nde gerçekleştirdiğimiz tanı yöntemleri;
- EMG (Elektromyelografi): Sinirler ve sinirler-kaslar arasındaki bağlantı bozukluklarını ölçer.
- EEG (Elektroensefalografi): Beyindeki elektriksel hareketleri ölçer.
- VEP (Vizüel Uyarılmış Potansiyel): Optik sinirin retinadan itibaren beyindeki görme merkezine kadar olan kısmını inceler ve işlevlerini değerlendirir.
